Viho is one of the exquisite Inca sons that we have choosen to carry on Inca's genetic legacy within our suri herd.
Viho has what we refer to as an "elite suri fleece" characterized as a super fine fleece exhibiting extreme luster. At Latah Creek/Chelsea Farms, we are working to unlock the genetics of the pre-conquest elite suri. The use of pedigrees, measurement of production characteristics and monitored performance will aid us in making intelligent and wise breeding and selection decisions. We believe that LCA Viho will be a key component in our quest to unlock the elite suri genetics of Incan times. A quick look at his show results emphasizes the quality of this exceptional herdsire. He has continued to win fleece shows at 4 years of age.
Senior Alonzo Burgos and Juan Chavez of Grupo Inca, Arequipa, Peru both agree that LCA Viho's fleece represents the ideal elite suri fleece. Senior Burgos said "I would love to have this young suri macho to use in our experimental alpaca breeding program, Pacomarco." This is possably the best comment we have ever recieved. Pacomarco is an alpaca breeding ranch located at 13,300 feet elevation in Puno, Peru. Its purpose is to breed exceptionally fine fleeced alpacas which can then be shared with the smaller breeders in Peru to improve their breeding programs.
Viho's first offspring have arrived and they are stunners! After seeing Viho's first cria drop in 2007 we are confident and secure in the future of LCA's genetic improvemnt breeding program. We are offering 5 outside breedings to Viho before being restricted but are offering the chance to purchase a breeding to LCA Viho with the purchase of either a male or female LCA suri.

Overall this male is excellent! He is a strong male with excellent substance of bone. Perfect Bite. Luster to burn. Locked to the skin in his first fleece AND his second fleece. He is true to type thru his head and overall proportions, exhibiting fineness, LUSTER, uniformity of character throughout the blanket and excellent density for fineness. We expect his progeny to exhibit the same excellent characteristics. Chaska’s dam has produced champion cria after champion cria. His sire Bruxo has had the same impact on the American Suri Herd that Caligula has had on the American Huacaya herd – one only has to observe their sons. He has a PROVEN pedigree. Suri Futures ananounces that Bruxo has finally passed on. He lives in the next world, and his body remains with his harem at our farm in Cave Junction, Oregon.
Bruxo's genetics continue to improve the North American suri alpaca industry. Bruxo's genes are the greatness behind the famous Macgyver, the most celebrated Herdsire of the Year, as well as Helios, Luxor, and many other champion suris.
He was a homozygous Accoyo suri and an outstanding impact herd sire, with 156 suri cria and no H's. An impact stud throws cria that look like him more than the dam and carry his fiber and conformation traits. DOB: 09/11/06 - Luster, lock and a well balanced little body. Ilona began her show career at the California Classic 2007 with a 4th place in a very competative class and the went onto to winning... she was not a happy show girl so she went to work being a mommy. She is much happier now.
